English ‘Justice’

30 January, 2008. | Post by Adam R

As I am writing this, I’m readin a copy of The Sun newspaper. David (no last name stated) was beaten to death, and stabbed with a samurai sword, asking his next door neighbours for his son’s football back. Included in this attack was a 41 year old mother of four. Pathetic people, scum. She has been charged with GBH (Grevious Bodily Harm) which, if I am not mistaken :

‘It is an either way offence, which carries a maximum penalty on indictment of five years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine. Summarily, the maximum penalty is six months’ imprisonment and/or a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum.’

Now, surely these people should be charged for murder? I am personally a fan of corporal punishment, a life for a life. That’s not my point right now. I turn to the next page, and see the story about ‘Securitas Robbers’. Using an inside man, they stole £53 million from a depot, each have been jailed for 70 years, with 15 years before parole is considered.

Am I the only one who thinks this is the wrong way round?
